Advanced Readers: Ages ~2 - 5

Updated: Apr 8

So this is the stage of the game at which point some parents begin to notice that their child is different. Maybe they went from beginning to talk right into being able to read! This is rare, but it does happen. If you have an “early reader,” meaning, if your child is able to read fluently and even comprehend things, you may have a gifted child on your hands. Early reading alone is not always an indication of intellectual giftedness, but often it is.

Identification of the gifted child is beyond the scope of this post. However, regardless of where your child’s abilities are, you can accelerate them at their pace. Do not worry about completing every activity, lesson, or concept. If your child can show you that they know a particular concept, skip it and move on to the next. SpritelyMind curriculum is written so that you can support your child where they are at and support their variable stages of development whenever they may occur, whether early or not so early.
